LabVIEW 2013 FPGA Compile Farm Toolkit ReadmeVersion 13.0.0 June 2013 This file contains important information about the LabVIEW FPGA Compile Farm Toolkit, including: Overview System Requirements Installation and Activation Instructions Getting Started Known Issues Automating the Installation of NI Products NI LabVIEW FPGA Compile Farm Toolkit Drops Support for Microsoft Windows Vista, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003 in 2016 Important Information OverviewWith the FPGA Compile Farm Toolkit you can compile multiple FPGA VIs simultaneously as well as monitor and manage the compilation queue remotely. You also can install compile workers on different computers and let the FPGA compile server manage all available compile workers on the network and load balance compilation requests. The compile server can reschedule the compilation job to a different compile worker if a compile worker becomes inoperable during a compilation. System RequirementsThe compile farm server, which is the computer on which you install the FPGA Compile Farm Toolkit, must meet the following minimum system requirements: - Windows 7/Vista/XP (Service Pack 3)
- 35 MB free disk space
- 1 GB RAM
- Web browser
Installation and Activation InstructionsYou can install all of your LabVIEW products—including the FPGA Compile Farm Toolkit—using the LabVIEW 2013 Platform DVDs. You can find installation instructions for the FPGA Compile Farm Toolkit along with activation instructions in the following locations: - LabVIEW Installation Guide, which is available on the LabVIEW installation media.
- LabVIEW 2013 Platform DVDs Readme, which is available on the top-level of LabVIEW Platform DVD 1.
To request additional LabVIEW 2013 Platform DVDs, refer to the National Instruments website at ni.com. Note: If you purchased this product with an NI Software Suite or NI Product Bundle, use the installation media that shipped with your purchase to install this product. Getting StartedRefer to the Getting Started with the FPGA Compile Farm document, available by selecting Start»All Programs»National Instruments»FPGA»Getting Started with the FPGA Compile Farm, for information about setting up and using the FPGA compile farm. Known IssuesYou can access the software and documentation known issues list online. Refer to the National Instruments website at ni.com for an up-to-date list of known issues in the FPGA Compile Farm Toolkit. Automating the Installation of NI ProductsYou can automate the installation of most NI products using command-line arguments to suppress some or all of the installer user interface and dialog boxes. However, starting with the August 2012 releases (products using NI Installers version 3.1 or later), you may need to perform additional steps before or during a silent installation of NI software. If the NI product you are installing uses Microsoft .NET 4.0, the .NET installer may run before any NI software installs and may require a reboot before the installation of NI software begins. To avoid a .NET reboot, install .NET 4.0 separately before you install NI software. For more information, refer to the following KnowledgeBase articles: - For more information on silent installations of individual NI products, refer to KB 4CJDP38M, Automating the Installation of a Single Installer.
- For more information on silent installations of suited NI products, such as NI Developer Suite, refer to KB 4GGGDQH0, Automating the Installation of a Suited Installer.
- To determine what version of NI Installers your product contains, refer to KB 4CJDR18M, How Can I Determine the Type and Version of My National Instruments Installer?.
