How to Use NI Software with Microsoft Windows 8
NI Software Support for Microsoft Windows Vista, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003 NI Vision Acquisition Software allows you to acquire, display, and save images; control digital I/O on National Instruments image acquisition devices; and configure your driver software and hardware. New FeaturesThis release of Vision Acquisition Software includes the following new features: NI-IMAQ 4.9NI-IMAQ is driver software for NI 17xx smart cameras, as well as analog, parallel digital, and Camera Link image acquisition devices. - Support for two new Camera Link configurations: Medium-4T8 2XE-2YE, and Medium-2T24 2XE-1Y.
NI-IMAQdx 4.3.5NI-IMAQdx is driver software that supports NI 177x smart cameras, as well as IEEE 1394, GigE Vision, DirectShow-compatible USB, USB3 Vision cameras, and IP cameras. - Support for webcams that use MJPEG streaming on NI RT Linux platforms.
NI-IMAQ I/O 2.9NI-IMAQ I/O provides support for reconfigurable input/output (RIO) using National Instruments EVS-1460 Series Embedded Vision Systems, compact vision systems, and other GigE Vision and IEEE 1394 reconfigurable image acquisition devices. - Support for PCIe-1473R and 1473R-LX110 on 64-bit LabVIEW 2012 and 64-bit LabVIEW 2013.
Upgrade Considerations for Legacy NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 CamerasNI-IMAQdx no longer supports Legacy NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 Cameras. This version of NI-IMAQdx uninstalls the Legacy NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 Cameras feature of NI-IMAQdx 3.3 or earlier. If you require Legacy NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 Cameras, you must download and install it separately. Visit ni.com/infoand enter the info code legacy1394 for information about how to install Legacy NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 Cameras. This version of NI-IMAQdx does not affect separate installations of Legacy NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 Cameras. Porting Existing Legacy NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 Cameras Applications to NI-IMAQdxIn most cases, there is a one-to-one correlation between an NI-IMAQdx VI or function and Legacy NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 Cameras VI or function. For example, the IMAQ 1394 Snap VI has been replaced with the IMAQdx Snap VI and takes similar parameters. You set and get camera attributes differently for each driver. For example, with Legacy NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 Cameras, you passed in an enumerated type that contained the attribute name and a value. With NI-IMAQdx, you pass a string with the attribute name and value. Another major difference between the two drivers is that NI-IMAQdx now supports the Event Structure in LabVIEW. Rather than using occurrences, as you did with Legacy NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 Cameras, you can now register the Frame Done event to fire in LabVIEW for more readable code. Maintenance and Support PolicyNational Instruments recommends that all new applications be developed with NI-IMAQdx. All new features, bug fixes, or other enhancements in the future will be made to the NI-IMAQdx driver and API. NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 Cameras is "frozen" to ensure that the behavior of existing applications does not change. NI-IMAQdx no longer includes Legacy NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 Cameras. This version of NI-IMAQdx uninstalls Legacy NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 Cameras. If you requires Legacy NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 Cameras, you must download and install it separately. Visit ni.com/info and enter the info code legacy1394 for information about how to install Legacy NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 Cameras. National Instruments Applications Engineers no longer support the Legacy NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 Cameras API.
